Intercom’s Respond and Engage products work seamlessly together to help you have live conversations with people on your landing page.
When your visitors get in touch to ask questions, you can respond to their queries in real-time with Respond. You can also send targeted auto messages to start conversations with landing page visitors with Engage.
Installing the Intercom Messenger Widget on your landing pages is a simple process with a few steps:
1. Sign in or sign up to Intercom;
2. Go to Platform > Start Guide, and click on Install the Messenger;
3. Select Basic JavaScript from the options available, and copy the code;
4. Go to your Instapage landing page, and paste the code in Settings > HTML/CSS, in the Body section.
Save and Publish your changes and that’s it! Now all your visitors will be able to chat with you if you use the Respond product, and you will be able to reach out to them with the Engage product.
You can perform a test conversation in order to make sure that everything is up and running.
Note: You need to whitelist the subdomain you published your landing page on, from inside Intercom, in order for the widget to work.
Note: While we try to keep all of our instructional articles that involve third-party services up to date, sometimes they make changes to their platform of which we are not aware and, as a consequence, the user interface may differ from the provided screenshots.
