In this article, you will learn how to use Instapage’s API feature (ie, your own personal API token) together with our pre-built Google Sheets template to export detailed performance data about all your landing pages, including metrics like traffic and conversions, into a spreadsheet you can sort, filter, export, and analyze yourself.
It’s not about clicking a button in the Analytics tab and instantly getting a sorted list; instead, it shows how to programmatically pull your landing page data from your account into a report you control, where you can then order your pages by most visits or other criteria using Sheets.
Download a copy of the template
A copy of the spreadsheet will be created in your own Google Drive account upon clicking the following link: https://d.pr/jyhSKs
The spreadsheet already has all the necessary code to generate your report, with no additional effort required on your part.
Connect your token
To get the token from your Instapage account, go to https://app.instapage.com/account. More information about the Personal API Token can be found in the dedicated guide here: https://d.pr/ELj2Z2
Navigate to the spreadsheet tab called Input Information and paste your confidential token into cell B1 (the first row, second column).
The cell is formatted with a white font color. This is done to obscure the content from screen recordings as long as the B1 cell is deselected. It is crucial that you treat the token as confidential information, as it can provide access to all of your Instapage account data, including leads.
Click on Generate Report
The first time you do this, it will open a Google authentication and authorization screen. Proceed to Allow the requested permissions, and then you will be taken back to the spreadsheet.
Click on Generate Report again, and the spreadsheet will auto-populate with data. This can take a few minutes.
View the data
Once data is pulled in, you can navigate to any of the spreadsheet tabs to view it, sort it, export it, and use it to make decisions that will boost your conversions.
Please note that Personalizations are not shown in the report. The published page count will exclude them.
Keep in mind that changing the spreadsheet's structure alters the custom script used to generate it. If you want to make edits or write your own scripts, we recommend involving your developers early to clarify what is possible and where they can support. You can share our API documentation (https://devdocs.instapage.com/) with them to get started.
Convert customers can also generate custom reports with the help of our Professional Services team. More information about Convert benefits can be found on our pricing page: https://instapage.com/plans
