When you are ready to publish your page, you can choose between doing so immediately or scheduling it to publish at a set date and time. You have the same choice when it comes to unpublishing the page.
NOTE: Scheduling is currently available for the Custom Domain (CNAME) and Demo Page publishing methods.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Click on the name of the landing page you want to publish.
2. Click on Publish Page and select Custom Domain.
3. Choose your subdomain+domain and type in the subdirectory that you want to publish on. To learn more about choosing a URL, you can view our dedicated guide here: https://d.pr/xLva7F
4. Click Continue. This will show you the optional Scheduling screen.
Scheduling your pages is optional, so if you do not wish to use this feature, you can simply select Immediately and When I Unpublish, then click Continue.
You can choose the date, hour, minutes, and time zone with the mention that the minutes are available in increments of ten. Please ensure that the chosen times are in the future and that the unpublishing date is after the publishing one. If these conditions are not met, then you will see an error message similar to the one below:
After you finish choosing the date and time, you can click Continue and finish the process.
The pages that have scheduling rules will be identifiable by the green icon on the right side, as shown in this GIF:
Canceling the scheduling
You can modify the schedule of a page at any time by going to the Scheduling section of the slideout.
This will lead you to the same screen as before, where you can see what you have scheduled. In order to cancel the scheduling, select When I publish/update/unpublish and make sure to Save.
Changing the URL
If you need to, you can change the URL that the page will be published on even after setting the scheduling. To do that, click on URL Settings, then Edit.
Once you have edited the URL to your liking, go through the process as usual to confirm the changes.
Interactions with other features
1. Experimentation
- You cannot create an Experiment for a page that is scheduled to go live but is not live right now.
- You can create an Experiment for a page that is scheduled to unpublish, but if the Experiment is still running when that time comes, it will end automatically. The winning variation at that time will become the new Control variation. You will receive an email informing you of the change.
2. Personalization
- If your default experience is already published, you can use the scheduling feature normally.
- If your default experience is scheduled to go live in the future, then you will only be able to publish custom experiences after the fact.
- You may use the scheduling feature for custom experiences in the same manner as you would for the default experience or other pages.
- If you unpublish the default experience, this will unpublish all of its custom experiences and cancel any upcoming scheduling.
- Scheduled pages are counted against the published page limit. To learn more about subscription limits, visit this guide: https://d.pr/sfLfte
- The account owner and the user who has set up the scheduling will be the ones to receive email notifications regarding successful or unsuccessful scheduling actions.
- Please make sure to whitelist our email address, no-reply@app.instapage.com, so that any email alerts do not get sent to Spam.
