Accidents happen. Whether you accidentally clicked "delete" on a critical landing page or need to recover an entire workspace, understanding Instapage’s recovery limits and procedures is vital.
This guide outlines exactly what can be saved, what is permanently lost, and how to initiate a restoration request.
1. Landing Pages
When a landing page is deleted, it enters a temporary grace period before being permanently erased from the user interface.
The 24-Hour Grace Period: Upon deleting a landing page, you will be prompted to confirm the action. Once confirmed, the page moves to the bottom of your landing pages list, where it remains visible and recoverable by you for 24 hours. You can click on the Restore button next to it.
Post-24 Hours: After the 24-hour window closes, the page disappears from your dashboard and cannot be restored by users.
Support Intervention: If the 24-hour window has passed, you must contact the Instapage Support team at help@instapage.com. Support agents can check the backend servers and will help recover the page.
2. Workspaces
Deleting a workspace affects all the content contained within it.
Restoration Process: Users cannot self-restore a deleted workspace. You must reach out directly to Instapage Support to request a workspace restoration.
The Post-Restoration Page Status: When a workspace is deleted, all pages within it are automatically deleted and unpublished. Restoring the workspace will not instantly put your pages back live.
-
How to Republish Pages: Pages must be republished manually. To do this:
Open the restored workspace.
Click on the desired landing page.
Click on Publish Page.
The system will remember your previous publishing method and URL if you published through the Custom Domain method, allowing you to quickly push the pages live under their original URLs. If you published them through Wordpress
3. Account Deletion & Privacy Requests
The ability to restore an entire account depends entirely on how the account was closed.
Standard Cancellations: Accounts that are canceled normally will enter the Free builder option, where the data stays inside the account, but the pages are unpublished.
Privacy Rights Requests (GDPR/CCPA): If an account was deleted by utilizing the official Privacy Rights Request form, the erasure is absolute. To comply with privacy laws, all data associated with the account is permanently scrubbed from Instapage servers. These accounts and their contents cannot be restored under any circumstances.
4. Permanent Losses (Non-Recoverable Assets)
Certain data types bypass any trash bin or grace period. Once deleted, they are immediately and permanently gone.
Leads: Deleting lead data is permanent and cannot be recovered. Instapage does not store backup copies of deleted leads due to data privacy and security protocols. It is highly recommended to export leads to a CSV or sync them to a CRM before performing any cleanup.
Any assets like images, custom fonts, scripts, popups, etc., once deleted from the account, are permanently removed from the servers and cannot be restored.
