If you need to move pages from one workspace to another or between different accounts, the process depends on whether the pages are live and whether they are being transferred within the same account or across different accounts. Here’s a detailed guide:
1. Transferring Pages Between Workspaces (Same Account)
You can transfer pages between workspaces within the same account using one of the following methods:
Non-Published Pages
For non-published pages, you have two options:
-
Download & Upload:
- Download the pages from the current workspace and upload them into the new one. You can follow the process as shown here: https://d.pr/Axr3KG.
- Important: This process creates a new page in the new workspace. Any analytics, leads, integrations, and slideout settings associated with the original page will not be transferred. We recommend downloading any data that you might need. For leads you can follow the instructions from here: https://d.pr/A3aMMF, for analytics from here: https://d.pr/zIQ4kO.
-
Backend Transfer by Support Team:
- If you prefer, our Support Team can move the pages from the backend.
- This method avoids the need for manual uploads, but some limitations apply (see below).
Live Pages
For pages that are already live:
- The Support Team can move them from the backend while keeping the pages live.
- This ensures continuous availability without any downtime.
- Certain limitations apply when moving live pages (see below).
Limitations:
- If a page has Global Blocks, those will become normal blocks after the transfer, and with no Global Block code (if it had any).
- If Google Ads is connected to see paid and organic traffic, then it needs to be connected to the new workspace in order for the transferred page(s) to remain connected (before the transfer).
- If GA is connected, then it needs to be connected to the new workspace in order for the transferred page(s) to remain connected (before the transfer).
- Ads connected through AdMap will get disconnected. They will have to be reconnected to the new workspace after the transfer.
- The image library will not get transferred, only the page with its added images.
- Same applies with Instablocks and Global Blocks library. They will have to be resaved in the library of the new workspace.
- If pages have custom fonts applied, the custom fonts won't be transferred automatically to the new workspace. In this case, please send a ticket to our Support Team to activate the custom fonts on the other workspace.
- Leads will be transferred but if they were created before the date when the new workspace was created, the leads will not show if "ALL" is selected in the timeframe. You will have to manually select the needed timeframe.
- Analytics data will not be transferred.
- If you have an Experiment created for a page, even a draft, you will need to end it, delete it, or archive it first before transferring the page. Otherwise, the platform will not let you create another Experiment in the new workspace for this page.
2. Moving Pages Between Different Accounts
If you're transferring pages from one account to another, the process differs depending on whether the pages are live.
Non-Published Pages
- Non-live pages can be downloaded from the current account and uploaded to the new account, similar to transfers within the same account. You can follow the process as shown here: https://d.pr/Axr3KG.
- As with internal transfers, this method does not retain analytics, integrations, or slideout settings; it creates a new page within the account.
Live Pages
To transfer live pages across accounts:
- The Support Team cannot move individual live pages between accounts.
- Instead, we can move an entire workspace to the new account.
How the process works:
- 1. Confirm which pages should be moved into a new workspace.
- 2. Our team will move those pages with the usual limitations mentioned above.
- 3. Once the pages are in a separate workspace, we can transfer that entire workspace under the new account/owner.
When transferring workspaces between accounts, the following limitations apply:
- Lead notifications won't be kept, along with all their settings (recipients, branded emails and custom HTML).
- Custom fonts will not be transferred even if both accounts have this feature.
- The image library will not get transferred; only the page with its added images will be transferred.
- Domain ownership will not be transferred unless it is specified by the current owner. If the pages are not live and the new owner wants to publish on the previous domain, if they do not have permissions to use the domain, they won't be able to publish on it unless the old owner grants them permission.
- Transferring pages between two different accounts will also affect the limits. The number of live pages, subdomains, workspaces, and team members in the new account has to stay within the limit of that account after the transfer.
If the transfer is made between two different types of accounts, for example, from an account under the Convert plan to a lower plan, certain features will be lost and thus not present on the pages. For example, Global Blocks, Personalization, Dynamic Text Replacement, etc., will no longer work. Always make sure that your pages do not contain any features that will be lost when moving from a higher plan to a lower one.
For assistance with any of the above steps or if you have questions about limitations, please reach out to our Support Team via email at help@instapage.com or via chat. We're here to ensure a smooth transition!
