Creating Fast Loading AMP Landing Pages

Note: This feature is available exclusively for our Enterprise subscribers. Click here to get in touch with our Sales team for more details.

An AMP (Accelerated Mobile Page) is designed for campaigns targeted primarily at mobile users, which help you keep your visitors’ attention with loading times of under 1 second.

Because AMP was created to increase page load speeds, you’ll notice that some of the functionalities in the builder are missing, like the ability to add HTML/CSS or Javascript. AMP doesn’t currently support these features because they can take a toll on a page’s speed and performance.

In order to create a new AMP page, click on Create New Page, then select AMP Page.

Choose a name for your page and click on Continue.

Now you can start building your page.

On an AMP page, you can add only the following elements:

  • Instablocks
  • Headlines
  • Paragraphs
  • Images
  • Videos
  • Buttons
  • Forms
  • Shapes
  • The Social Widget

You cannot add a countdown timer or an HTML element.

You can run an A/B test an AMP page just like you would on a standard page. You can check out this article for more information on A/B testing and variations.

Note: While you’re designing your page, you may see a warning telling you that you’re approaching the CSS file size limit. AMP pages have a 50 KB size limit for the CSS file, so there’s a cap to the number of objects you can add.

If there’s a good chance you’ve met or exceeded the file size, you’ll be asked to validate. Click “Validate” to check.

Publishing an AMP Page

After you’re happy with how your page looks, you will have to publish it. AMP Pages can only be published on custom domains. More details on how to set everything up from your domain provider’s end: Publishing on a Custom Domain (CNAME).

Click on the Publish button from the top right corner. This will trigger the validation process (checking if the page is AMP compliant).

If your page passes the validation process, you will be automatically redirected to the Publishing menu:

Here, type your domain name and the subdirectory (if you want to use one). Then, click on Publish and that’s it.

You can also publish your AMP Page on Wordpress by following the instructions provided in this article.

Note: You can publish an AMP Page and use it as the mobile version for a fully-featured standard page: Instructions here: Linking an AMP mobile page to a standard landing page.
